Today, we celebrate a truly historic milestone.
On 2nd July 1967, First Grand Master Rhee Ki-ha introduced ITF Taekwon-Do to the United Kingdom, laying the foundations for what would become a thriving martial arts community that continues to inspire generations.
Over the past 59 years, that vision has grown stronger than ever. From humble beginnings to thousands of dedicated practitioners across Scotland, England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, the legacy of First Grand Master Rhee Ki-ha lives on through every student, instructor, and club.
At ITF Scotland, we are proud to be part of this incredible journey and to continue promoting the tenets of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit.
Here’s to celebrating our rich history, honouring those who paved the way, and looking forward to an even brighter future for ITF Taekwon-Do across the UK.
Happy 59th Anniversary to the introduction of Taekwon-do in the UK 🥋
